EVERYDAY VAL

Love....it's not just a day's event or some romantic fling, or a recurrent word used in sentences to portrait emotion or affinity for a person or thing, No! You agree with me?
Of course you do.
It's a life, a choice, it's a person, dont wait for some date on your calendar to be a better neighbour, to spend time with your spouse, to dress beautifully (not in a red and white way), to smile more often and be nice to that dude from across the street, to buy lunch for your colleagues at work, to call old friends and ex, to reach out to your parents, to tell your kids you love them, to share a pack of minimee with strangers, to be linient with the pricing of your commodities, to leave the change for the road hawker, to tip the waiter, allow the car in the other lane intercept your lane, to give the little guy a chance, to say a prayer for Nigeria, to say no to corruption ... In Nigeria, We are love beings, we dont need any one day to show who we are... Everyday's valentines... Dont let it stop after today. Share your everyday acts of love in the comments below.
Live, Eat, Pray, Love, laugh, learn, share and grow!

THREE FRUITS

Three fruits had a dream, to be the biggest tree in the park then they fell off the tree to the ground, the first fruit was plum and firm “I’ll be the biggest tree ever, it bragged. I’ve got the shape, the seed and the soil is perfect for my skin, the only thing that can come out from me is a big tree” the first fruit went on and on. But the second fruit, though just as perfect as the first fruit was small, so it quietly rolled over to a corner “who knows…” it said, “if I start early and grow in the right soil, maybe…just maybe.. I might be a big tree” it said. But the third fruit…it was badly injured from the fall, such a terrible fall it had, all of the juice in it had been lost, the delicate inside of the fruit was exposed to the harsh environment and the fruit, sad and wounded stayed near the tree, there was despair in its face and all the hopes it had were dashed into the wind, but nevertheless took what was left of itself and found a good spot near the tree to grow and hoped that the environment would favour it. Not quite long after, the third fruit had germinated and grown to a young seedling, the second fruit was devastated and was beginning to get sick, but the first fruit was still fresh and plum, it kept on rolling around the park telling all the fruits in the garden how big it would get, soon the second fruit died and was reborn into a beautiful young seedling, yet the first fruit was still in perfect condition, but it was not happy, “all the fruits that fell with me are all growing except for me” it groaned, sad and devastated it crawled to a corner and later on broke apart and then the environment favoured it and it germinated to a seedling. Years passed and The third fruit was now the biggest of the three and the first fruit… well… it’s still growing and would definitely become a big tree someday but not before the first and the second fruits. It’s all about how quickly you can be broken, growth is a function of a stretch, discomfort, tear and brokenness. Regardless of how you fall from the tree of life, either perfect or far from perfect, we all carry the same content in us, the same seed and it’s how quickly your seed finds the soil that determines how quick you grow. So you graduated late, or you got in school late or even worse you are the last born in your family, we really cant change these things... can you? Definitely not! I don’t know about you though, but for me..its a no no. But here’s what you can do, reach inside of you and expose your seeds or talents, or gifts or ability, get out of that plum, juicy exterior of yours, grow out of your comfort zones and stop living in your dreams, we all have dreams (unless you are Frankenstein's monster or a zombie) and then we get up in the morning and get to work… but if you gallivant in your dreams, waiting for some magic to pop you open and transform you to a big tree with the wave of a wand…my friend… this is not harry potter and I think that harry porter stuff is getting to your head and it isn’t doing you any good, you might wanna wake up now and get cracking, no matter the size of the egg, if doesn’t hatch, its only good for an omelette and nothing more, most definitely not a chick. So increase your chances of making it big by breaking out of the norm, get in the rain, work in the dirt, send out the mail, start that business, start that book, learn that craft, you’ve got to let that well hidden and sweetly covered, juicy idea come out and stop getting comfortable with your parent's money, your mummy’s food and your big brother or sister’s handouts, if you want to grow and you want to grow now… like right now…then get that seed out. Oh boy… I think I said too much already… but one thing to pick from my story is that we are all the biggest trees in the park, we just don’t grow at the same time and it’s not the size that counts. Okay that's three things to pick out. Happy Sunday fam. Eat, Pray, Love, Laugh, Learn, Share and GROW. I'm theDANIEL ...
