AS E DEY HOT

“I am a woman and am not proud of my actions, or the situation I put myself into. I’d been having an on-off relationship with my boss, a loathsome alcoholic with a terrible snoring disorder.
One heinous night, we were lying on the bed, him asleep. I was pretty much dressed as it was 4am and was trying to be bothered to get up and go home. Suddenly he let rip with the most almighty fart. This did not amuse me. The smell was indescribable and, worst of all, it was of such volume that he’d woken himself up. Impressive I have to admit.

TROUBLE MAKERS as LAW MAKERS

Police in Nigeria fired tear gas in an effort to prevent a top opposition lawmaker from entering parliament on Thursday. Members of parliament had convened in the capital, Abuja, to debate President Goodluck Jonathan’s request to extend the state of emergency in the country’s northeast as part of the fight against Boko Haram militants.

The standoff began when Speaker of the House Aminu Tambuwal approached a gate leading into the National Assembly building.

Imam Imam, a spokesman for Tambuwal, said police blocked the speaker from entering the complex, without giving a reason other than they were following orders. Tambuwal recently defected from the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) opposition party.

“The members who were with the speaker became agitated and some of them got angry, and fought their way into the assembly complex," he said. "There and then, the police now brought in the reinforcements and locked the door again after the speaker had passed, so some of them had to climb over the fence. As soon as they had access into the premises, the police then used tear gas to disburse the members.”

Police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu said the lawmakers and their entourage of about 200 APC supporters were unruly, and police acted to restore order. He says seven people were arrested.

“They broke the cordon put by the police, because we had information that there would be trouble today. So we have to cordon the area to avoid a breakdown of law and order,” he said.

Lawmakers from Nigeria’s Senate and House of Representatives were expected to vote today on whether to act on President Goodluck Jonathan’s request to extend a state of emergency in three northeastern states. Lawmakers first approved emergency rule last year in response to the spreading Boko Haram insurgency, which has left thousands of people dead.

Imam says the police' refusal to allow Tambuwal to enter came as a surprise.

“You requested for the extension, he came to honor that to do his job, and, possibly, sit down and look into the request," he said. "And yet you are asking armed men, armed police and state security personnel to stop him from having access to the House. So it’s really baffling, honestly. It’s something we cannot put together.”

Imam says the speaker eventually made it into the National Assembly. Tambuwal then met with senators and held a closed-door session with fellow members of the house, who decided that the president could use his mandate to continue the fight against Boko Haram in the north until lawmakers decide on the emergency rule extension.

The APC is expected to present the biggest challenge to the ruling PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan in elections in February.

The house then adjourned to December 3. The senate meanwhile adjourned till next Tuesday.

Mr. PRESIDENT!

Dear Mr. President,
I will at this point skip the formalities of asking how you and the family are doing, not out of disrespect, but simply because I see you on TV all the time, and from there I know you are doing fine.
I am writing this letter not as a happy man, but as an aggrieved citizen, not just an aggrieved citizen, but also a scared citizen, I fear for myself, I fear for my family and I fear for my country.
I woke up yesterday feeling quite perky, the sun was shining, I had electricity, I was healthy, no new case of Ebola had been recorded, I said my prayers and gave thanks to God for making all these things so, but moments later the all too familiar news began to filter in, another bomb had gone off, and I thought to myself,” oh God not this again”.
I instinctively turned on the television and clicked on all the local stations, and do you know what I found? Well I’ll tell you, I found nothing, not a single report, and without wasting any more time, I picked up my cell phone and began scrolling through the online papers, and that’s when I saw it, a bomb had gone off right in the middle of a secondary school, a secondary school, filled with young ones, filled with the ones we claim are our leaders of tomorrow, their lives had been cut short, those who survived would be forever haunted by what they saw, no one should have to see so much gore in their lifetime, but the young ones witnessed it, one minute they were standing at the assembly ground waiting for their morning instructions before commencing their classes for the day, and the next minute, pieces of them all over the place, and I ask myself this simple question, why should this be happening, and do you know what answer I got? Well I’ll tell you, I got nothing, zero, and zilch.
I simply need an answer from you, why should this be happening, and please I don’t want any answers from no special advisers, I didn’t elect them, I elected you, so you owe me an answer, I want to know why the North East is gradually being carved off the map, I want to know why Boko Haram is thriving, I want to know why we can’t believe anything that comes from the government anymore, should it be so.
A few months ago, Nigerians were told the leader of the sect had been killed, a few weeks later, said killed leader posted a video telling us he had not been killed, now I don’t know much about reincarnation, but I certainly know it doesn’t happen that fast, and from the little I know, zombies and dead guys don’t make videos, so who lied?
A few weeks ago, Nigerians were told a ceasefire agreement had been reached, and also plans were being made to rescue those that had been taken, but a few days after this announcement was made, bombs went off, villages were sacked, and more Nigerians were killed, and to top it all off, the leader of the sect, the guy you told us was dead, made yet another video, tell us everything your government said was all a lie, so now I ask, who lied?
How many more Nigerians must die, before you see the need to give this monster your optimal attention?
How many more soldiers must be killed, before you see the need to vanquish this evil from our land?
I have tried to imbibe patience as a virtue, but it grows thin by the second.
Mr. President, I won’t pretend I know what it means to run a country, but I know what it means to be a leader, and being a leader means to protect those you have sworn to lead, but sadly we are not being protected, we are being killed, kidnapped, maimed, scared, terrorized, oppressed and marginalized in our own country, while you and the others sit calmly and trade blames, which brings me to another matter I want to discuss, I really don’t care what party does what, all I care about is making this country a place to live in peace and be proud of again, and frankly I am sick and tired of the back and forth your party PDP and APC games play all the time, while Nigerians, and mind you the same Nigerians you all are struggling so hard to lead, sit back and wallow in pain and suffering. Should the people not be your paramount concern, or do you plan to lead rocks if you get re-elected?
At this point I might seem to be rambling, but remember how it all started, this monster has been lurking among us for over 4years now, and it doesn’t seem to be dying out, if anything, it’s getting bigger, bolder and stronger, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
Yesterday, over 40 more families were thrown into mourning, added to the thousands of other families who have lost husbands, wives, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, grandparents etc. Mr. President these are your people, doesn’t it break your heart to see your people in so much anguish?
At this juncture, I am no longer asking, rather I am demanding, as a citizen of this great nation, that you do what you were elected to do, protect the citizens of this country, a country you grew up in, a country that produced you and made you what you are today. You must take visible action and flush out these Cretans, and put a stop to them once and for all.
The time for talk is over, the time for trading blames Is over, now is the time for real action, Nigerians need to feel a sense of value again, prove to us that we didn’t make a mistake when we elected you, prove to us that you have what it takes to rise up to any occasion and to do what it takes to solve any arising issues, prove to us that you have a heart, prove to us that it is not just about politics.
On a final note, I would like you to ask yourself what you want Nigerians to remember you for?
Are you going to be remembered with fond memories?
Or
Are you going to be remembered with a scowl?
The choice is yours Mr. President.
I wish you Goodluck.................... By A Concern Father & Nigerian.

relationSHIP: Avoiding a wreck

One of the first things that we all take for granted is RELATIONSHIP, it's not deliberate but we most times forget how much something really matters to us when we think we have it firmly in our grips.

And it usually takes losing something to realize its importance and value.

Wondering what the big problems in a relationship are, and what you can do to overcome it?

Depending on the kind of relationship you share with your partner, the problems in a relationship too could be just as unique.

At some point or the other, these problems have a way of creeping into your romance.

Making HER Happy...

Hey there, recently I got some mails from quite a handful of guys whining about how hard it is to please their ladies then asking me  for help on how to make their girlfriends happy, well theDaniel listens and provides answers.
Girls, it’s in their nature to be affectionate and loving and when in a relationship with a wonderful guy, they love being treated in a special way by him but more often than not, a guy just doesn’t know how to treat his girlfriend in a special manner, even if he’s trying hard to please her but making your girlfriend feel happy and loved isn’t a complicated confusion.
In reality, it’s very simple, you just need to make her feel special and cared for when you’re around her. If you want your relationship to be perfect and envied by all others couples, learn to think from your girlfriend’s perspective. When both lovers in a relationship think from the other partner’s perspective, the relationship can only get better and more loving with time.

THE DRUNKEN DRIVERS

The following is supposedly a true story. To be included, besides being true, the story is most likely strange, weird, surprising, or funny.

The "Environmental Engineering News" published some rather sobering information about punishment for drunk driving convictions in other countries.

In Australia, the names of drunk drivers are printed in newspapers under the caption, "He's drunk and in jail."

In Malaysia the driver is jailed and, if married, the spouse is jailed.

In the United Kingdom, Finland and Sweden there's an automatic jail term of one year.

In Turkey, drunk drivers are driven twenty miles out of town and forced to walk back ten miles.

In Bulgaria, a second drunk-driving conviction results in capital punishment.

In El Salvador, your first offense is your last -- execution by firing squad

I wonder what our government is doing about it, cos it seems even our law enforcers get drunk on the job, and the our roads are not even good enough for a  bicycle, needless to talk of cars. What do you think should be done to drunk drivers in Nigeria?

blonde FAITH

A blonde and a brunette are sitting in a

bar and watching the 11:00 P.M. news. A man is standing on the ledge of a high- rise building, contemplating suicide. The brunette says to the blonde: "I'll bet you $20.00 that the man jumps off that building and commits suicide." The blonde thinks for a moment then replies: "OK, you're on!" They watch for a few minutes and sure enough, the man jumps off the ledge. The blonde sighs and reaches for her wallet, but the brunette stops her, saying: "I can't take your money - I feel too guilty. I have to confess that I watched the 6:00 o'clock news this evening and I knew that the man would jump. The blonde replied: "Oh! I watched the 6:00 o'clock news too, but I didn't think he'd jump off again!"....I know many of us have read this joke many times and i must admit it really was funny the first 10 times i read it (had nothing better to do at that time), and gradually it started to loose it"s humour, i started seeing a tiny spark of reality in this blonde joke which eventually ignited a fire in me... You see friends, this blonde might be dumb to think there could be a change in a news repeat broadcast, but she was not dumb to have had faith in humanity, how many of us truly, really expect something good from the world...we spend hours debating on how defunct the world is, we predict the downfall of nations, economies, and many of us think we are experts in the status qua of the world's misfortune...but can we really believe for once that the war in Iraq would end, there will be peace in Somalia, the economy of Nigeria will be revived, the education system of Nigeria will be among the best in the world and the world itself will be healed...maybe I'm just as dumb as the blonde, after watching the news on TV, reading the newspapers and seeing the state of the world, i still believe the world can be a better place and peace can reign in all nations of the world...it does not matter how many times i see it on TV, or read about it or even hear about how miserable and hopeless our world is, i still choose to believe that the world would get better, that there would be surplus of food for children starved to death in Africa, that America would call back home her troops, that religious crises would end, that all races would leave together as one family and peace will reign...I'm theDaniel Olubunmi Odunlami, on a mission to change my world...and it starts by BELIEVING that IT WILL HAPPEN...TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER...
